Undoubtedly saints of other ages will be anxious to know what it was like living in this unprecedented era. They will not be interested in our computers or our cars. They will want to know, “What was it like to have the whole Word of God in your possession, in your own language, and the freedom to read it?” They might ask, “What was it like to be able to offer to all the gospel of grace that they might be saved?” Others will inquire, “What was it like to have the privileges of a priestly ministry? To offer spiritual sacrifices? To offer yourself?” “What was it like,” they will ask, “to enjoy the fellowship, joys and sorrows of fellow believers as you looked for the Lord to return?” Well, what is it like? Do I really have any idea of what God is doing? Have I allowed the world’s paltry agenda to take over my life so there in nothing left for the Church? What a privilege to be part of God’s assembly! May the apostle’s prayer be answered in our lives – that we may have the “spirit of wisdom and revelation” to enter into God’s thoughts about this. Our Lord Jesus Christ is worthy of our willing participation in His great idea! - from the introduction.

Thus Maria began her long journey in 1940 which was to lead her into the darkness of blind devotion to Hitler and the atheism of the Nazi system. The path led to a storybook romance… cruel disillusionment at Hitler’s suicide… a traumatic awakening to the swastika’s scourge across Europe and upon the Jews… a breathtaking escape from the Communists… and a reemergence into the love and lordship of her mother’s Jesus.

This is his story… a story about Doug and his failures… kicked our of the same college twice… dismissed from church after church where he was serving as minister of music… a broken marriage and home… that was Doug… running, searching and seeking. A Missionary in the Making – The Autobiography of J. H. Brown: by J. H. Brown, unknown copyright, PB, VVG, very minor wear to corners of cover, very minor crease on cover, rare title, 344 pages. - $5.00
“I have read the book with deepest interest, and I am sure it was written from an experience and an understanding of African life that very few have had. The facile pen and the versatile brain of the writer makes the book live and keeps one spellbound. Harry Brown is not a man with a one-track mind; his ability in languages, building, engineering, doctoring, dentistry, and in many other callings, enabled him to readily meet any situation. It must be remembered that Africa in the early days was terribly primitive in every aspect. No roads, no railways, no vehicles of any kind, no horses, no oxen; anything and everything for transport was carried on the heads or shoulders of African carriers. The wonderful way in which the Lord helped in those early days is graphically described by Harry Brown’s versatile pen.” – A. H. Boulton

Missionary work amongst the Moslems is notoriously difficult and by the same token its triumphs and rewards are outstanding. These facts are known to none better than Captain Fisk, who here writes an enthralling account of his many years in the Master’s service in Morocco, that fanatical country where he has witnessed so many triumphs of faith, prayer and perseverance. The Prickly Pear is a book of high adventure in the greatest of all causes and memorable contribution to missionary literature.

The Rudy Atwood Story is a fascinating book. The reader is led through Mr. Atwood’s life from the earliest days, to the time in 1938 when he became known to millions of radio listeners as the musical minister of “The Old Fashioned Revival Hour.” He is led also through nearly every state in the Union and Canada, from concert tour to concert tour, and each one holds an exciting or humorous incident. “This book is a treasure of both godly and womanly wisdom told with disarming candor and humility, yet revealing a deep heart’s desire to know God.
H. Boulton
